The Red Monkey

This month marks the Chinese New Year and as many know, 2016 is the year of the red monkey. In astrology talk that means “monkey business.” If we are left to the devices of the outside world, chaos and uncertainty reign like a pack of loose chimps.

The antidote to falling prey to the forces that surround us resides at the core of our inner being. We are reminded to go back to our heart again and again to replenish our energetic resources, to remember what is real – love, family, friendship, worship. Rest is what fuels our passion for what really matters.

Today spend some time in nature. Take a few moments from your day to lay down any weariness. Find a safe place to sit, breathe, watch the birds, and… Rest. Nature knows something we don’t about the inherent rhythm of life, the natural order of things we would do well to observe.

What do you see in the infinite beauty of nature that inspires you?

Savor the moment….
