Enlarging Your Understanding of the Ultimate

Sedona Rainbow

“This yearning to know our true nature is universal” – Jean Houston

On our first day back in Sedona last September, a monsoon swept through Boyton Canyon. We started our dinner outside on the patio overlooking the dramatic drop of the red rocks and moved inside at sunset when dollops of rain began falling in a sycophantic roar. When it was over, a magnificent rainbow appeared stretching from beyond the enchanted resort to Kachina Woman, Warrior Rock and farther out of range. A multi colored channel of ethereal light had formed before our very eyes, linking the human world with that of the divine.

Soon a hush fell over the group that had gathered spellbound by the sight and we stood in awe. The notes of Somewhere over the Rainbow began dancing in my head alongside visions of the pot of gold told of in the tales of carefree youth. Something ancient had spoken to us from the cliffs of the high desert. We had witnessed nature’s magic and the chance to stand in wonder.

The next time you see a rainbow, rest in that moment for a while, allow yourself to live fully inside that moment. Reflect on what is unfolding in this world and the next.

Will you allow the rainbow to enhance your understanding of the ultimate?

Savor the moment…

I love the visual reminders you give us to help us to remember to pause, even in those small moments, and appreciate life.
