ZAMA

by Debra Mae White on January 1, 2013

Once upon a time, when I had grieved for the angst and losses of the people, I was shown the day when all of the world would join together in one pointed peace. December 21, 2012 was that day. We who walked side by side in the land of the Maya shared one compassionate heart.

The moon could be seen in the clear blue sky by mid afternoon. Stars aligned in an astronomical symbol predicted by the Maya thousands of years gone by. The local shamanic community had already been in prayer beginning the evening before, ending in a song of celebration at the first sight of sunrise.

Tulum is truly a primal spiritual Mecca that the modern day Maya have made a concerted effort to maintain in the native way. The literal translation of the word Maya is The Chosen Ones. They have made a public declaration to reclaim the original name of this sacred site, Zama in honor of the appearance of the Sun when daylight dawns.

There were people spilling into the area on that Caribbean coast from all corners of the earth by the time we entered. The sugary sand juxtaposed against the giant outcroppings of rock was a place I had visited many times in my meditations. Looking about the platform above the beach, I was taken with the plentitude of sizes, shapes and colors of people gathering. Voices could be heard in a multitude of tongues, some familiar and others my ear was unable to identify.

I stopped beside a couple dressed in white with red sashes lingering in the shade. “Do you speak English?” I queried. A “leetle” was the response in a foreign accent. “We are from Finland and pray for good.”

“May you be blessed,” I said. “And you as well,” they offered. In that moment I knew beyond doubt that the scene unfolding before me was predestined. This coming together was the culmination of a loving connection throughout humanity. The long awaited era of a new, glorious Global Consciousness had arrived.

Savor the moment…

Loving connection. Global consciousness. A world joined together in peace. We must keep reminding ourselves that this is what life is all about. Thank you for a lovely post.
